As an Associate Director SEO at 85SIXTY, you will have a hand in driving the growth of our SEO practice in collaboration with other SEO leadership roles and agency leadership. You will support and operationalize best practices for the SEO practice and its customers. You will be comfortable navigating the needs of our customers across Technical, Content and Offsite opportunities, while also supporting the new business process.

This role will be responsible for partnering with existing SEO team leadership members to work within our Travel, Tourism & Hospitality customer accounts, diving deep into their data to analyze their programs’ effectiveness, provide SEO opportunities, identify trends in data, test SEO theories and create strategies that are growth-driven, proactive and measurable. You will become an SEO evangelist across customers and for our internal cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing client portfolios across Travel, Tourism & Hospitality to targeted goals and objectives.
  • Cultivating and maintaining successful client relationships through progressive SEO strategies, quality deliverables, insightful reporting and engagement of team members where applicable to drive cross-functional opportunities.
  • Overseeing and managing execution of SEO strategy across all owned accounts.
  • Communicate a clear, insightful vision for the SEO channel, its role in performance marketing and its continued evolution in the marketplace.
  • Support the growth of a “one team” approach where supporting each other is paramount.
  • Provide channel leadership during sales pitches as needed.
  • Track trends in the marketplace and be able to translate those into insights to adjust clients’ SEO strategies.
  • Working with cross-functional team members like Strategy, UX, Design, Analytics, Media and Engineering.
  • Recruit, coach, retain and attract SEO talent.
  • Identify program KPIs and provide insightful reports on the ongoing activities of each customer's program.
  • Communicate with C-suite level stakeholders, Seniors/Directors and be able to pivot during conversations.
  • Develop link building strategies and work with outsourced vendors.
  • Support the evolution of the agency’s technical SEO approach across core platforms like Adobe Commerce (Magento) and Shopify Plus.
  • Provide critical and strategic thinking during cross-functional meetings for clients.
  • Contribute to agency knowledge base as it pertains to SEO and complementary channels.
  • Managing multiple projects, client priorities and tasks.
  • Contribute to SEO marketing materials like case studies, whitepapers, social media content and blog posts.
  • Participate in speaking opportunities or local education events by representing the agency as a thought leader in the SEO space.
  • Working within SEO tools like Moz, ScreamingFrog, SEMRush, AHREFs, etc.
  • Support outbound sales process as subject master expert.


Desired Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of SEO experience working in an agency environment.
  • Creative thinking, organized, good communicator with effective writing skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in onpage and offpage SEO strategies.
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint), and the Google Office Suite (Docs, Sheets, Presentation, Drive, Gmail, Calendar)
  • Experience working with remote team members and clients and running online meetings using different online conference software (Zoom, Slack, Google Meet, MS Teams, etc.)
  • Knowledge of common SEO tools and platforms like Screaming Frog, SEMRush, Moz, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Business Profiles, Google Trends, and others.
  • Working knowledge of CMS platforms like Wordpress, Shopify and/or Magento.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Deep knowledge of advanced SEO including AMP, SPA, PWA, working with JavaScript, headless websites and other emerging SEO trends/technologies
  • Proven work experience in managing a team of direct reports / team members with ability to develop and mentor junior roles
  • Ability to focus on primary tasks assigned with multiple priorities, maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of the capabilities and uses of different digital marketing channels, tactics, and strategies to collaborate with them well.
  • Ability to think creatively on technical matters.
  • Desire to learn new skills, try new technologies and generally push the boundaries in digital marketing.

Compensation Disclaimer:

Compensation Range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually. Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to job-related knowledge, level of relevant experience, education, skills and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). 85SIXTY reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
